Mystery Dingwell

UPDATED: I think the DNA tests by my dad and myself pretty much prove the theory that Sibella Dingwell's father is named William Dingwell, son of John Bates Dingwell and Margaret Boyd. AncestryDNA Thrulines for my branch link us to the brothers Joseph, Alexander, Robert and James. I haven't been able so far to prove links for parents/siblings of his wife, Mary Margaret Morrison.

Marie Louise Estacaille

Update: so far I have not found a match for Marie Louise or a possible William Hamil in the 1950 census for California or Missouri. I have seen the image for her father & step-sister in San Francisco. This is an ongoing research, as transcription of the census records continues. I've been able to trace this cousin up to abt 1950-1952 thanks to an obituary for her father, Louis Estacaille. But after that? It looks like she married William Hamil and lived near Kansas City, Missouri in 1952. Did she have children? When did she die? Where did they live? The 1950 US census is released soon, but I don't know if it will help much if she remarried after 1950. Missouri records are hard to search due to their privacy acts.

Mary Margaret Morrison

Estimated birth abt 1785 in either Scotland Highlands or perhaps Ulster, Ireland. There are several DNA tests on Ancestry & other sites, but nothing so far definitive linking cousins beyond her daughter Sibella Dingwell. Did Mary Margaret have siblings? Who were her parents? Birth date? Marriage date? When did she die? Rumor has it she had two sons as well? There are several Morrison families, primarily from the Ulster area, that immigrated to PEI in the late 1700s. I have tried tracing some of them using early records, but have so far not found a daughter that fits my possibilities.

Mystery Vanderport

UPDATE, November 2022:I may have found a crack in this brick wall. AncestryDNA is suggesting a relationship with Mary Polly Wheeler & Lena Johnson, women that have relationships with Vanderpoel men back in Bradford county, Pennsylvania. The plot thickens as this is where Edith Boyd's grandparents came from. You can read more on my blog post https://estacaille.one-name.net/vanderpool-vanderpoel-vanderport-update/ Not much is known, I estimate that he was in southern Saskatchewan area 1917-1918 and born late 1890s or early 1900s. Family notes say that he was Pennsylvania Dutch. I've done research of a Vanderport that lived in the Tribune, Saskatchewan area, his mother remarried a Segel and lived in the area too until abt 1919 when the family immigrated back to Washington state. No DNA matches found so far. I've also done some research on Vanderports in the area of Pingree, North Dakota where my Boyd's had homesteaded before moving to Saskatchewan. Again, no DNA matches found so far.
