Estacaille Genealogy One Name Study

Family Research Hiatus

clipping 1950 census

Still here – just been busy since the start of the new year rebuilding several websites for clients.  My genealogy research has been quiet, but not completely shut down.

The US 1950 census was released to the public as of April 1st.  It’s not yet 100% indexed at the time I’m writing this, but their AI has done OCR on the images and some are close enough to point to some relatives.

I have a couple of brick walls that I’m hoping this census will help solve.

I’ve had a quick look for some of the US Estacailles, and despite an accurate index at the beginning, I did find a couple of records.

Great-granduncle Louis Estacaille in San Francisco – found him at 1310 Fairfax, but not as head of household.  He’s located with his step-daughter Emily (nee Ecar) Estrem and her husband, Jack Estrem.

Brick wall, Marie Louise Estacaille, daughter of Louis, is not listed with the family.  Where is she? Now, it’s possible that she could be married by 1950 to William Hamil and is in Missouri – not found so far.

I’ve found records for Edmond & Henry Estacaille, sons of Dominique and Ann Marie (need Laperyi) Estacaille.

I’ve also found record for another California family I’m tracing:  Jack & Anne (nee Duzanica) Estacaille from Menlo Park.

Well, that’s as far as I’ve had a chance to work so far.  Hoping in May to get back to more research, in between gardening 🙂
